The national media El Mercurio, published a note that exposes the concern about the correct implementation of the 40-hour Law, the Karin Law and the Family and Work Conciliation regulations.

In this regard, our partner, María Fernanda Espinosa, indicated that what has happened with the latest laws, especially with the 40-hour law, is that the Labor Directorate (DT) has issued its rulings very little in advance of the entry into force of the law.

He affirms that these actions generate “confusion in companies and workers, delay the processes of adaptation and implementation of the laws, and force last minute changes”.
In the case of the Karin Law, he stated that the Ministry of Labor has yet to issue a regulation that contemplates the guidelines to which the investigations must conform. On the other hand, it is also pending that the DT delivers an opinion to set the meaning and scope of this law.
