In the context of the discussion on the Economic Crimes Law, our founding partner, Fernando Barros, stated that it is unlikely that the new regulation will directly affect the financial investments of family offices and companies, since “it does not encourage to leave the comfort of passive financial investments and move on to develop companies that grow, when the law punishes the same act more severely depending on the size of the company or the rank of the worker”.
