On December 12, the National Congress approved a new Framework Law on Cybersecurity and Critical Information Infrastructure, which contains a series of provisions on cybersecurity aspects applicable, among others, to companies of electricity generation, transmission or distribution; drinking water supply; telecommunications; infrastructure and digital services; land, air, rail or maritime transportation; banking, financial services and means of payment; and transportation and storage of fuels, among others, also incorporating a regime of infractions and penalties ranging from 5. 000 to 40,000 UTM.

This happens just days before the publication of the National Cybersecurity Policy, an instrument that contains the guidelines to be adopted by the State of Chile to face the challenges that exist in our country in this area.
